2010 CIVIC AWARDS FOR CONSERVATION

GUIDANCE NOTES & NOMINATION FORM

Objectives

By rewarding the best architectural projects in the last five years this Award Scheme, which is sponsored by the Cheshire Society of Architects, Chester Civic Trust, Cheshire West and Chester Council,  aims to stimulate interest in our built environment and develop a deeper and broader appreciation of both traditional craft skills and high quality contemporary construction.  The awards are also supported by English Heritage.

This is the 8th round of ‘Civic Awards’ but the first time that the scheme applies to the extended area of ‘Cheshire West and Chester’.  It is also a happy coincidence that this year marks the 50th anniversary of Chester Civic Trust – a partner in this scheme since 1995.  All the sponsoring bodies hope that the Awards will raise the profile of good architectural design in our community.
